Saturday 2010 World Cup Betting: Ghana against US

The knockout round is here and the game between the United States and Ghana on Saturday was a really anticipated 1 at the usa sportsbook.

The United States team was finding themselves greatly supported by a suddenly pretty interested nation that usually doesn’t pay much attention to soccer. The US got a late goal from Landon Donovan to defeat Algeria in their earlier game in an outstanding performance that had many Americans glowing with pride. Ghana also guaranteed progression from Group D last week. The US was a slight fave in World Cup sports betting in this game, and several fanatics believed they would go all the way.

The United States was just three minutes away from not progressing from Group C when Landon Donovan landed in injury time. In reality, videos of the reactions of United States fanatics to Donovan’s last-minute goal circulated the Internet, eventually reaching Donovan himself and bringing him to tears. The 1-0 win gave the United States the leading spot in Group C so not only did the US defeat Algeria but they won Group C and avoided Germany in the round of 16. Ghana seemed as though a much easier game vs the United States, at least on paper. England ended second in Group C and they proceeded on to compete with Germany in the knockout round. Germany defeated the team in an embarrassing 4-1 final score, and the English team were removed at that point.

The u . s had played fairly well in the World Cup at that point with a victory and two draws. They have been having difficulties to score goals though and they’ve also had some bad fortune. They easily might have had at least three goals in the previous game vs Slovenia and two or three vs Algeria. Donovan has been strong in the World Cup and Clint Dempsey has created lots of chances. Also Jozy Altidore and Michael Bradley have played well. The US have a great goalie in Tim Howard but defensively the US was permitting a few chances.

Ghana was coming off a 1-0 loss to Germany but Ghana still moved on due to the fact Australia upset Serbia in the other game. Ghana and Australia ended even on points but Ghana won the goal differential. Ghana is the only African team to make the knockout round so they had the backing of the fanatics on Saturday. They were surely reveling in being the last outstanding African squad at the 2010 World Cup.

Ghana has some ability but they have actually struggled to score goals. They have just two in their three World Cup games. Their goalie, Richard Kingson bailed them out time and again vs Germany.

Ghana was simply a team that the United States might – and most likely should – have been able to defeat on a normal basis. It’s not that Ghana is a terrible team. It’s that the United States is simply better. So when the US team was removed by Ghana with a final score of 2-1 on Saturday’s game, it was somewhat of a surprise, and almost certainly an emotional 1 to Americans.

Ghana will now be only the 3rd African team to make it this far by progressing on to the quarterfinals. On Friday they will be facing Uruguay.

England vs Germany FIFA World Cup Gambling Odds Lines

The World Cup wagering experience was not supposed to play out like this for England. The English squad came to South Africa as the 3rd most liked team in the World Cup probabilities to win the whole competition with a lineup loaded with soccer sports wagering superstars.

This team was supposed to open the World Cup sports wagering competition by humiliating its former colony – the united states – and exhibiting the Yanks what genuine ‘football’ was supposed to be about. And with three points in the bag they would then go on to eliminate weakling Algeria and then might afford to sit back and deal with the scrubs in the final Group C competition versus Slovenia as they prepared for the World Cup wagering round of 16.

But as anybody that’s been observing the World Cup probabilities competition appreciates, the English side was lucky just to advance from the group stage.

Though Germany didn’t have to handle the enormous World Cup wagering hopes of the English side, it struggled as well. The team fell flat the next competition losing to Serbia after an extraordinary beat of the Aussies to kick off its World Cup 2010 probabilities competition, and before clinching a spot in the knockout stage with a 1-0 win versus Ghana

It was a pretty interesting soccer wagering competition between these 2 European team sides. England really isn’t playing much of anything right now while Germany plays a pretty controlled, but amazingly aggressive offense competition.

Germany and England have a record of enjoying outstanding World Cup games. They played at Wembley, which England won 4-2, back in 1966. It was furthermore the 1st World Cup meeting between 2 of football’s earliest enemies since 1990, when West Germany beat England on penalties after a 1-1 tie.

And for the World Cup 2010, Germany pretty much trashed the English team to a 4-1 win.

It was the Germans who had the last laugh although England (17/10) was the ever so slight fave over Germany (19/10).

The English defense was slack and the Germans came out fast to a 2-0 lead before the English team landed their point. Germany secured the 1st goal of the competition at 20 minutes with a lengthy kick downfield from Manuel Neuer. It was his 12th at World Cup finals and his 50th global goal. England’s defenders were found from position again for Germany’s second goal as Lukas Podolski booted a left-footed shot into the far corner of the goal. Five minutes later, England got back in the competition when Matthew Upson headed in the ball.

Then when England’s Frank Lampard was denied an equalizing goal came the game’s most dubious moment. He punted the ball in from the advantage of the penalty area. It hit the underside of the bar and rebounded a few feet over the goal line, and the referee simply did not acknowledge the goal. The competition went on with England being denied the point.

And that goal likely wouldn’t have made the difference in spite of English coach Fabio Capello’s states to the contrary.

Germany, who have now attained at least the quarterfinals at every World Cup since 1954, will encounter Argentina in the last 8 on Saturday.

World Cup 2010 Wagering on South Korea vs Uruguay

The 1st chance to make a 2010 World Cup bet in online sports betting in the round of 16 took place on Saturday as Uruguay took on South Korea.

South Korea finished second in Group B while Uruguay was the top team from Group A. Uruguay had been pretty outstanding with two victories and a draw and they were preferred in World Cup sports gambling versus South Korea. Uruguay is unbeaten versus South Korea in their four previous games and they looked like the significantly more powerful side in this Saturday competition.

South Korea played Nigeria to a 2-2 draw and was only able to get through to the knockout round. South Korea finished with only four points but that was adequate to get through Group B that was earned by Argentina. South Korea was owned by Argentina after they looked good in their 1st competition versus Greece. They did what they had to do though versus Nigeria and got the point to progress. South Korea has Park Ji Sung and Lee Jung Soo and not a lot else. It figured to be pretty difficult for South Korea to score versus a Uruguay team that had yet to allow a goal in the World Cup.

Uruguay played to a draw with France in their 1st competition but they then rolled over South Africa in their second competition. In their 3rd competition to win Group B, they controlled Mexico. Uruguay has the capability to score goals with Diego Forlan and Luis Suarez and they play impressive defense. They should have been able to exploit a South Korea defense that has granted six goals in 3 matches.

South Korea has permitted the 1st goal in their last two games to Argentina and Nigeria. They came back to get the draw versus Nigeria but once they gave up the 1st goal to Uruguay, they probably had no chance to win. South Korea has obtained 5 goals but two of those were obtained due to errors by other teams. Uruguay rarely makes any errors on defense. The other 3 goals for South Korea were obtained on set pieces and Uruguay is impressive at defending those. Uruguay moved on to the quarterfinals with a win over South Korea because they’ve got the superior offense and the superior defense.

It was little surprise to anyone that the final score of 2-1 was in favor of Uruguay. With South Korea eliminated from the World Cup, that leaves Japan as the only Asian team left with a possibility to get anywhere. And their forthcoming competition versus Paraguay isn’t truly looking too good for the Japanese team.

Huh Jung-moo, South Korea’s coach, mentioned through an interpreter that soccer in South Korea is a work in progress. He stated that the condition of his country’s soccer program is surely in superior shape now than it was in 2002, when it attained the World Cup semifinals as a co-host nation.

Oscar Tabarez, Uruguay’s coach, mentioned that South Korea has grown pretty somewhat as a team. When he said that though they had to lose the competition, they leave the World Cup with their heads held high, he seemed impressed with the South Korean team.

Argentina versus Mexico in FIFA World Cup Wagering Odds

No squad has been as extraordinary in the course of the 2010 World Cup probabilities online betting competition as Argentina and no squad has been more fun to watch. Ironically, the Argentine team arrived at the South African World Cup online sports betting competition with all kinds of question marks dangling above its head and, in fact, barely even qualified for the World Cup probabilities competition in the first place.

But credit and apologies to the craziest SOB to ever coach a World Cup squad, Maradona, because his squad is playing light out right now.

After torching its Group B competition for 3 victories in 3 games and scoring 7 goals along the way this squad is the closest thing to soccer gambling juggernaut as you’ll find in the World Cup gambling action right now.

The Mexicans ought to be pitied.

Mexico has a very great looking squad in its own right and vs almost any other squad on this side of the World Cup probabilities draw they would have had a healthy shot and might even make a great underdog pick. It is tough to pinpoint a single weakness, and the all-around play of this squad is extraordinary. In 1 of the hardest groups in the World Cup betting action, Group A, this squad lost a tough 1-0 decision to Uruguay in the final competition but was otherwise extraordinary.

This squad should have been at its best when it took on Argentina but sadly it wasn’t enough to get by this South American giant and into the World Cup gambling quarterfinals. Mexico’s best possibility would have been to slow the competition down, remove the passing lanes and stuff as many defenders as achievable in front of the box and stop any balls from getting through to the Argentine striking corps of Messi, Tevez, Higuain and Milito.

The final score of 3-1 was relatively dubious but fairly much came down to a better Argentine squad having their way with a hurting Mexican offense. It would have been suicide for Mexico to even attempt an offensive competition plan since Argentina is so fast and so great in the open lineup and counter attack.

The competition opened up with Mexico’s Carlos Salcido getting a point in the eighth minute. Things looked great for the Mexican squad until Tevez got his first goal and the tide of the competition changed. From that point on, Mexico simply could not get the ball away from Argentina long enough to score.

Carlos Tevez landed a goal twice – one time on a disputed goal – and Gonzalo Higuain added one more as the Albiceleste defeat Mexico 3-1 on Sunday to go into the quarterfinals.

The second goal, landed by Tevez by proceeding in a pass from Lionel Messi in the 26th minute, was a problem. Tevez was clearly offside when he butted it in. But the referee awarded the goal after consulting with his linesman while surrounded by upset Mexican and Argentine participants.

The Albiceleste has earned this match and is now 1 match nearer to the World Cup gambling finals. They have progressed to the quarterfinals where they’ll play against Germany.

UFC 116 Wagering: Lesnar Will Knock Out Carwin

The UFC 116 wagering main event looks on paper to be very interesting for MMA fight wagering enthusiasts.

But when the rubber hits the pavement and UFC wagering champion Brock Lesnar and Interim Champ Shane Carwin step into the Octagon it’ll be anything but interesting.

Lesnar will wipe the mat with Carwin in sports betting and very likely earn a Knock Out win vs the mining engineer from Colorado. Carwin is basically not in the same class as Lesnar as a fighter despite the fact that his track record in the run-up to this UFC 116 probabilities event could be outstanding.

Much has been said of Lesnar’s past career in Vince McMahan’s traveling WWE circus as a performing circus clown. His authority as an MMA fighter has been really questioned since his UFC betting debut and continues to be all the way up this UFC 116 betting competition. But it is unjust, and ridiculous, to compare what he’s doing now in the UFC Main Events to what he did in his artificial wrestling days.

Lesnar (4-1) has shown remarkable progress as an MMA fighter during his quick career and has gotten better with every competition. He entered the UFC betting as a powerful but raw fighter and slowly his abilities and athleticism have been perfected into a very outstanding MMA betting champion.

Carwin has not fought against anyone even close to Lesnar’s ability level inside the Octagon even with being the owner of an ideal MMA wagering track record (12-0) and the UFC 116 probabilities competition will be a rude awakening for the man. Of course the heavyweight division of the UFC right now is a little thin but still the list of competitors that Carwin has defeated versus contest that Lesnar has defeated is really not even comparable.

But nobody who’s ever fought against Carwin has seen the second round. His outstanding win over Frank Mir in his last competition at UFC 111 secured Carwin the interim heavyweight title. And with an unbeaten track record of 12-0, you’d think he’d have earned some respect. But he’s still viewed as the underdog by the sports books. Carwin himself has said that if he touches anyone with his hands, he can knock them out. He’s fairly confident in his own abilities.

Carwin and Lesnar have several similarities and that may make the UFC 116 wagering competition relatively intriguing, at least for a while, but Lesnar should have his way with Carwin and possibly even knock him out. Both are former wrestling champions and aggressive in their fighting strategies.

The two were originally set to take on each other at UFC 106, before Shane Carwin won the interim heavyweight tournament, but Brock Lesnar pulled out of the competition because of an illness that kept him from training.

UFC 116 probabilities bettors will likely see a lot of striking and with these powerful men that opens up a lot of possibilities for a Knock Out. And Carwin is most almost certainly going to be it if anyone is going to get Ko’d in this UFC wagering competition.

UFC 116 is planned for July 3 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Do not forget to look into the UFC 116 card for\ the remainder of the bout wagering action.

Japan vs Paraguay in Tuesday World Cup Wagering

Japan and Paraguay face off on Tuesday in World Cup betting in sportsbook gambling at the round of 16.

Paraguay was the Group F champion while Japan is a big surprise as they ended 2nd in Group E. Paraguay is the fave in World Cup gambling odds at the sports gambling and casino for this Tuesday competition.

World Cup betting odds include Japan in the round of 16 and that’s a major surprise. Not just was Japan not supposed to move forward from Group E, they were supposed to finish last. Japan in fact got 2 wins in the group to finish 2nd behind the Netherlands. They made it to the knockout round when they routed Denmark 3-1. Keisuke Honda and Kasuhito Endo landed goals in the 1st half. Denmark cut back on the lead on a goal from Jon Dahl Tomasson but Shinji Okazaki landed to put the competition away for Japan.

Reaching a 1st ever World Cup quarterfinal with victory over Paraguay on Tuesday, as stated by Japan coach Takeshi Okada, would be an critical step in developing football in his country. After South Korea was knocked out in the 2nd round by another South American team, Uruguay, Japan is the last surviving Asian team.

Japan wasn’t regarded as a menace in Group E but they beat Cameroon and Denmark while losing to the Netherlands. In the deciding win over Denmark, the Japanese were remarkable as they created a number of chances. Honda landed the 1st goal on a nice free kick while Endo did the same. The loss by Denmark was a big surprise. Denmark was supposed to defeat Japan but they did not play well and were eliminated in the group stage for the 1st time in their history.

Paraguay concluded up winning Group F which turned out to be the poorest of all the groups in the World Cup. Paraguay needed just a draw in the last competition vs New Zealand and that’s just what they played for. In what was a pretty dull competition that concluded up scoreless, neither Paraguay nor New Zealand had plenty of chances. Paraguay just needed a draw though so they were delighted to get through to the knockout round.

Both of these teams want to reach the quarterfinals of the World Cup which neither has carried out thus far. This competition will more than likely demand its methods of play in this competition as Paraguay submits a pretty distinct kind of play with mental toughness and technical awareness whilst Japans 1st 3 opponent were on the attack.

Paraguay is regarded as the better team than Japan and they are preferred in World Cup gambling odds. Paraguay will want to thwart the Japanese by slowing them down. The Japanese are hoping their dead-ball prowess and speedy attacks could hold the essential to breaking down the South Americans. After a pretty real win over Denmark, Japan has the momentum. Japan landed 4 goals in their 3 group games and allowed just 2 while Paraguay landed 3 goals in their 3 games and allowed just 1. With neither team having much scoring opportunity this could be a low scoring match on Tuesday.

UFC 116 Gambling: Soszynski against Bonnar

Contrary to popular belief there’s more the impending UFC 116 betting competition than the Main Event between heavyweight champion Brock Lesnar and challenger Shane Carwin.

You can be pardoned for thinking that the UFC 116 odds matchups did not extend past these heavyweight bruisers as this Main Event game has been getting all the hype for the UFC 116 mma fight betting competition for weeks.

But there are plenty of great UFC 116 odds opportunities in sports betting and several other pretty great matchups on the Main Card. One pretty fascinating MMA betting opportunity is the light heavyweight game between Krzystof Sosyznski and Stephan Bonnar.

When the UFC 116 gambling competition finally gets underway in Las Vegas on July third most of the interest and the MMA gambling money will be on Lesnar and Carwin and that ought to only produce further online gambling opportunities on matches like the Soszynski-Bonnar matchup.

Neither of these fighters is all that great and some UFC betting fanatics could even question why fighters of their standing would be included on a UFC betting Main Event card. These two men should beat the hell out of each other and, if not a portrait of great fighting abilities, it ought to be bloody knockout battle to the death, despite the fact that they could not be all that skilled (a combined history of 37-20).

Soszynski comes into the UFC 116 gambling competition with a career history of 19-9, seven of those wins coming by KO and four of those losses coming by KO. That means the possibility of his UFC 116 odds encounter with Bonnar is pretty likely to end a KO as well, and that is what MMA gambling fanatics love to see.

Bonnar is not all that different of a competitor. His career MMA gambling history is a sloppy 18-11. Only two of those wins have come by KO and only two of losses have come by KO. However this guy can take a punch.

UFC 110, where Soszynski got the better of Bonnar and the competition was called as a result of doctor stoppage, was the most recent time these two fighters met up in the UFC betting competition. Due to a cut he gained after Soszynski headbutted him, Bonnar was stopped in the third round. A proud Bonnar wanted to carry on the competition, however the combination of referee and doctor cut short his plans that night. He basically did not consider such a small cut to be a show-stopper. His largest issue with the competition was the decision that announced Soszynski the winner that night. Despite it being apparent to everybody in attendance and at home, Soszysnki’s accidental headbutt was overlooked and Bonnar was handed a stoppage loss.

Buffs can anticipate the same sort of bloody, knockdown, drag-out competition as the first matchup between these as they get back into the Octagon for the UFC 116 betting competition.

On July third, UFC 116 is timetabled at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Do not forget to check out the remainder of the fight betting action on the card for UFC 116.

Germany vs England in World Cup Wagering Round of 16

World Cup gambling at the sportsbook on Sunday in the round of 16 could easily be a semifinal or final but Germany and England met on Sunday with the loser being eliminated from the 2010 World Cup gambling and bets.

With the English the slightest of faves, the World Cup gambling odds were about as close as you are able to get on this match.

World Cup gambling has favored Germany and England in each of their group matches and neither squad has been excessively outstanding. England was truly unsatisfying in their three group matches nevertheless they did enough to get through as the 2nd place squad from Group C behind the u.s.. Germany at least got 2 wins in Group D, despite the fact that they were not very outstanding either.

England may have more skill but thus far in this World Cup they haven’t yet shown much of it. Wayne Rooney hasn’t won yet but at least in the last match against Slovenia he looked better. He was the 1 player who could make a major difference on Sunday.

Germany and England have a history of playing great World Cup matches. England won 4-2 when they met back in the 1966 final at Wembley. In that final, Geoff Hurst won a hat trick for England. Four years later it was Germany upsetting England in the quarterfinals. The squads met in 1990 in the semifinals and the game went to a penalty shootout that Germany ended up winning 4-3.

And now Germany has practically trashed the English squad to a 4-1 victory in the 2010 World Cup.

While it was considered that the similarly-matched squads may come down to penalty time in a close game, that only was not the situation. The English defense was sloppy and the Germans came out fast to a 2-0 lead before the English squad won their point.

Then, England’s Frank Lampard scored a goal that should have brought the game to a tie. The goal was not spotted by the referee sadly for the English squad. The ball bounced a couple of feet behind the line at the goal, but lacking delay, the German goalie simply picked it up and threw it back into play. The English squad was denied their point when that basically tricked the referee into thinking the ball had not crossed the line.

Germany may well think the determination compensates for for 1966, when the English squad was famously awarded a third goal even though Geoff Hurst’s shot appeared to bounce down on the line.

England’s coach Fabio Capello considered that goal might have been a turning point for the English squad, and they may have wound up winning the tournament after that. In the 2nd half, however, a better German squad simply ran away with the match. Germany’s Thomas Muller won 2 times to take Germany to a 4-1 lead, providing England their biggest ever World Cup loss.

Germany, who have now attained at least the quarterfinals at every World Cup since 1954, will take on Argentina in the last 8 on Saturday.

World Cup Betting Preferred Netherlands versus Slovakia

The Netherlands, as they confronted Slovakia on Monday, was 1 of the greatest faves in World Cup soccer betting in the round of 16.

The Netherlands was undefeated in group play as they won all 3 of their matches while Slovakia had a victory, a tie and a loss against World Cup betting odds at the sportsbook.

The Netherlands was listed by World Cup betting as 1 of the main contenders to win the World Cup and they’ve lived up to that advance advertisement. They were coming off a 2-1 victory over Cameroon in their previous game in Group E. The Netherlands has been simply hard to beat. They’re the 1st time since Brazil in 1982 to secure every one of their qualifying matches and every one of their group games. Robin van Persie won a goal against Cameroon and Arjen Robben had an assist on the game winning goal. The Netherlands allowed only 1 and won five goals in their 3 group matches.

Slovakia is a surprise entrant into the round of 16. Italy was so pathetic that Slovakia was able to move on with a victory, a draw and a tie, though they were not meant to progress to the knockout round. Slovakia concluded 2nd with 4 points while Paraguay won Group F with five points. Slovakia came from last place in the final competition up to 2nd place as they defeated defending World Champion Italy 3-2. Slovakia got a quite shocking win against the World Cup betting odds after Robert Vittek won 2 times for Slovakia. It is the 1st time that Slovakia is in the round of 16 as an independent nation.

Slovakia may have been able to continue their surprise run if they got more goals scoring from Vittek. The Netherlands has been difficult defensively therefore Slovakia needed to find a method to get through. Slovakia head coach Vladimir Weiss was apologizing before the Italy game for his squad’s play but after that win, he had some people singing his praises. Slovakia removed the defending champion, Italy, by defeating them 3-2 in that competition. The participants have been quite unhappy with the media at home and the majority of of them simply overlooked reporters after the victory over Italy.

Slovakia moved on to the round of 16 even with being outscored 5-4 in their 3 group matches. So it simply did not seem quite probable that they would wipe out the Netherlands in Monday’s competition.

It was therefore not that most of a surprise when the Netherlands removed Slovakia from the World Cup contest with a final score of 2-1. The Eastern European squad should be delighted with making it this far in their first-ever World Cup appearance since Czechoslovakia split in 1993, although they were removed.

The Netherlands showcased several the outstanding passing and scoring that is a hallmark of the Netherlands when it is playing well.

The Netherlands has now reached the final 8 and will be competing in the quarterfinals. Yet now they will be facing World Cup juggernaut Brazil in their next competition. That’s going to be a much different contest than their relatively easy win against the weaker Slovakian squad.
