Nov 27 – Buffalo Bills against Jets

A strong argument might be made that no two squads in the nfl are in more of a tailspin than the Bills and the Jets. The Nov 27 game will allow one of these squads a shot to salvage their season. At the start of the season, the squads had different expectations. The Jets have been to the last two AFC Championship competitions, and entering this season head coach Rex Ryan was forecasting this would finally be the year they would move forward to the Super Bowl. The Bills, alternatively, have not had a winning season since 2004 and were a depressing 4-12 last year.

The Bills shocked the league by beginning 5-2 behind the outstanding running of Fred Jackson and smart game managing of qb Ryan Fitzpatrick. The Bills’ bid for their 1st winning season in years has become less promising, nonetheless, as they’ve lost their last 3 competitions. The Jets have been inconsistent all season. They won their 1st two competitions, then lost their next 3, won 3 in a row following that, then slipped two more in a row. Both squads are now 5-5.

It’s a match that may be critical for both squads on Nov 27 when the Bills play at the Jets. Jets qb Mark Sanchez, who’s prone to making misguided throws, could have things made hard for him by the Bills opportunistic defense. But only 3 weeks ago the Jets hammered the Bills 27-11 in Buffalo and of late that Bills defense hasn’t been useful in stopping anybody. While both squads are troubled, it seems the Bills are the squad that has totally fallen apart, losing their last 3 competitions by a combined score of 106-26. Starting New York to play a Jets defense that is seeking to make a point might not be the way for the Bills to right the ship.
